Caregivers Needed for Research Project

August 4, 2003
The Center for Health Systems Research and Analysis at the University of Wisconsin is conducting a research study of family caregiver needs during the course of cancer illness.

The results will aid in the development of a non-commercial university-based computer information and support system for family caregivers of people with advanced cancer. The study is looking at caregivers needs across the course of cancer disease and into bereavement.

"We are hoping to pinpoint what types of information and resources would be most helpful for caregivers at particular points along this timeline," said Susan Dinauer, Project Director, Center for Health Systems Research and Analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The researchers are looking for current or former caregivers of people with any form of advanced cancer. The survey is a one-time pencil-and-paper survey that takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. A $20.00 reimbursement is offered to study participants.
